Mission Statement Survivors Healing Center (SHC), is a program of Family Service Agency of the the Central Coast, a California 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Survivors Healing Center has been serving the Santa Cruz County since 1987. SHC provides education, information, referrals, therapy services, and support to survivors of childhood sexual abuse and their allies. We offer therapy groups for women, men, teens, mothers of survivors, and partners of survivors. Our primary goals are to empower those victimized by sexual abuse through a healing process and to prevent sexual abuse of children and youth.
Volunteer Duties -tabling: attend different community events and give out flyers on services and upcoming events.
-faith based outreach: Every 3-4 months, mail out group flyers and brochures to different faith based organizations from our office.
-presentations: prep: make copies and prep folders for various outreach presentations and if you want to develop your public speaking skills you can give presentations as well.
-Caring4Kids Event: annual event in April, which is Child Abuse Awareness month hosted by Survivors Healing Center.
